Oooh Beehive Poetry Slam (26th July) Part of Birmingham Fest.

Oooh Beehive comes to Birmingham as part of BirminghamFest at The Blue Orange Theatre. A magnificent mix of comedy and top quality spoken word, the night will be headlined by renowned performer, broadcaster and former world slam champion Elvis McGonagall, and supported by brilliant multi slam-winning rising star Chloe Jacquet. But that’s not all! There’s also a poetry slam with a cash prize, the Oooh Beehive Trophy, and more.

Chloe Jacquet is a multi slam winner and festival performer. With a preference for straight talking and a penchant for rhymes and opinions, Chloe’s poetry is both entertaining and accessible and deals with a wide variety of subjects, ranging from workplace discrimination to the pressures placed on modern men, via her short term relationship with a biscuit.

Stand up poet, 2006 world poetry slam champion, armchair revolutionary, comedian and broadcaster, Elvis McGonagall resides at The Graceland Caravan Park somewhere in the middle of nowhere where he scribbles verse whilst drinking Scotch, listening to Johnny Cash and throwing heavy objects at his portable telly.

Come and join us for this wonderful night of camaraderie and word wizardry!”
