For Their Safety (7th March)

For Their Safety is a 25–30 minute short play that begins with laughter and ends in uncomfortable silence.

Set in a British park, two longtime friends meet after a day of shopping with a young child. What starts as casual banter slowly shifts when a knife-crime incident at a local school enters the conversation. As humour gives way to fear, the play examines motherhood, anxiety, and the quiet ways adults try to protect children in a world that no longer feels predictable.

Blending social drama with dark humour, For Their Safety explores how “normal life” continues even as unease creeps in and asks what safety really means when danger feels closer than we admit.
