M. R. James: Whistle and I’ll Come to You
As Part of Birmingham Fest
“Who is this who is coming?”
When the rational and sceptical scholar Professor Parkins takes a trip from home, he stumbles upon a mysterious whistle. Unaware of the eerie history attached to this seemingly innocuous object, Parkins blows the whistle, setting off a chain of unsettling events where the boundaries between reality and the supernatural blur. ‘Whistle, and I’ll Come to You’ is a quintessential ghost story, brought to you in a brand new adaptation for the stage, that challenges the borders between fictional worlds, our own imagination, and reality.
Written by James Nicholas based on the story by M R James.
